Playing Around With Ideas Again..

Jeni

Inside of CD cover?

I was thinking we could maybe use something like this? It's only a very rough attempt, but I think the writing works because it goes in with the whole photo album idea. So we could either choose two seperate images to put on the inside, or have something more like this....

?

Pictures don't work, but just to give a vague idea of what it would look like.

If not, we could try having a collage kind of thing: a mixture of photos from the video, photo album and tv studio, aswell as maybe the letter from Andy, and some other images that express Miss Mercy's character and star image? Let me know what you think :)

30th November

Been editing today :) Nearly done.

26th November

We've been in the editing suite nearly all of today! And, finally, everything is all in place and all the lip sync-ing is done! All we need to do to it now is add in a couple of effects, to make the memories more..memory-like. This shouldn't take too long and can be done in Tuesday's lesson!

I Might Be Going Abit Overboard With These Now..?

I quite like this one :)

And this one is alright..

It's just the white balance that annoys me about this picture! Her face just doesn't look right :(

Playing Around With Ideas..

Just been messing around with some ideas really, I don't know if you'll like any of them. I think that for the front cover of the CD, we need a more contemporary picture, because Miss Mercy is a contemporary artist, and it is just the video for Who Am I Living For that is old and set in the 1940's. Or maybe we could use something like these for the advert? Or maybe we shouldn't use the at all?
I quite like the black and white, with the colour coming through. It's abit like it's in the past, with the present coming through. Same with the writing, the song title is black, but the artist name is coloured.

Change From Original Ideas..

Just thought we should mention that; in our original ideas, we were going to have Meredith pregnant in the narrative, but we decided against this idea a while back. Thought we should clarify this, as there is an earlier post about an idea of how to portray her pregnancy..

Front Of CD Cover?

Maybe something like this for the front of our CD cover? What do you think?

Back Of CD Cover Idea

I just put these together really quick to see what you all thought? And whether this was the sort of thing we were going for? Obviously the one we do properly will look better than this one..

Feedback And Change To Target Audience

Just thought I'd post about all the positive feedback we're getting :D Everyone who watches it seems to really like it!

Now that we've filmed, edited and watched a lot of our video, we've come to the conclusion that our target audience may have changed slightly. It still includes teenagers, but we also think that the video would appeal to up to 30year olds. We think this because the themes and narrative of the video are quite 'heavy' and slightly older viewers may be able to relate with these themes more than teenagers would. However I think the teenage range is still quite a big chunk of our target audience because they are the people who are most likely to be browsing YouTube, for example, or watching music channels.

TV Studio Filming And Digipak&Advert Research

The shoot in the TV studio went REALLY well today, except for us being pushed for time because of Karen giving another group half of our time in there. But, we did get everything done that we wanted. The search-light performance looks really good and effective! We've started to edit that in now, and shouldn't take too long! Then we just need to add the finishing touches, and the video will be finished for our deadline next week!

23rd November

Been editing loads over the past week! In lesson, and out of lesson Jeni stayed until 8.30pm on Thursday!
Friday morning, Andy and Jeni went back to Erddig to film the trench scenes. That went really well! But it was really cold :( And Meredith and Kenny did some work for the digipack and advert.
In lesson today, we captured the trench stuff we'd filmed and edited that in. We also sorted out the photoalbum for filming in the TV studio tomorrow afternoon!
So, tomorrow, we will be filming the photoalbum bits, and a couple of performance bits, then all our filming will finally be done :D and we can focus on the editing and making it look really good!

16th November Filming

Filming has gone well today :D The camera battery was alot better than the one we kept getting, so we managed to get alot of footage! We will capture it in our lesson tomorrow morning, and hopefully it will have turned out well!

16th November

We're going to go filming in Erddig in a couple of hours for the picnic scenes, and we'll see what else we can get done whilst we're there! Hopefully it will go well, and hopefully we are going to film our photoalbum scene in the TV studio tomorrow in our lesson!

Location Shots From 6th November

10th November

Filming went really well at the weekend! - Except for the battery kept running out :(
We've managed to re-film the train scene (with the steam train this time!) and the canal scene, without getting anything modern in shot.
We've captured the footage onto the computers in college, started to edit :D and it looks really good!
We just need to sort out when we're going to Erddig and into the TV Studio for the bits we still need to film!
Camera and computer are now happy to work together, so here are the pictures of our storyboard :)

Sorry that they're all difference ways round :(

Letter To Copyright Holder

This is our letter that we sent to Capitol Records to gain their permission to use the Katy Perry song 'Who Am I Living For'.

Dear Capitol Records,

I am an A level student and I am writing to request your permission to use one track from the latest album by ‘Katy Perry’ entitled ‘Teenage Dream’.

The track I wish to use is ‘Who Am I Living for’, track 9 on the album. With your permission this track would be used in my current A-Level media project, this involves creating a music video for a popular music track, as well as producing an album and a magazine advert for the ‘Artist’.

If I received your permission this track would be viewed only by the rest of my media class, my teacher and the OCR exam board, it would not be released to a large audience and would not be uploaded to any public video websites.

The artist and your company would of course be fully recognised throughout pre-production and the final video itself. A copyright notice, with wording supplied by you can be included in the records of the project. If this is required please send full details.

Sincerely

2nd November Lesson

Today we went through our footage, and decided that we are going to film it again. We'll be doing this on Saturday! Andy has rang up the station, so that they know we are going to be coming, and we talked about what we need to do to make sure this time, we get the shots we need without anything modern in it.
We're hoping to get to Llangollen quite early on Saturday morning, so that we have the least amount of tourists around us whilst we're filming :)
Also, we've tried to upload pictures of our storyboard, but the camera that we took them on doesn't like the computer, so it's not working :(

Haven't Posted For A While!

Basically over the past week, we've bought our tapes, spent a day filming in Llangollen (train station and by the canal) and I've captured the footage onto the computer. After seeing it on screen though, I can see a few problems...there are quite a few modern people/things that are in shot :( We're supposed to be filming this weekend for the steam train though aren't we? So we can redo those train bits that have modern stuff in them then! And we really need to do that by the end of this week, as the costume that I have hired has to be taken back to the shop a week today! So that's army hat, boots, dress, hat, gloves.. We'll have to discuss it in lesson tomorrow! Other than the modern bits that we don't want in shot, our footage looks good :D

Here are some pictures from on location (in sepia!) ...
