23rd November

Been editing loads over the past week! In lesson, and out of lesson Jeni stayed until 8.30pm on Thursday!
Friday morning, Andy and Jeni went back to Erddig to film the trench scenes. That went really well! But it was really cold :( And Meredith and Kenny did some work for the digipack and advert.
In lesson today, we captured the trench stuff we'd filmed and edited that in. We also sorted out the photoalbum for filming in the TV studio tomorrow afternoon!
So, tomorrow, we will be filming the photoalbum bits, and a couple of performance bits, then all our filming will finally be done :D and we can focus on the editing and making it look really good!

  1. We were unable to find an actual world war 2 trench within our area so we had to improvise in portraying a believable trench. In a local country park called erddig we found a meander in a river with a tall river bank to the side. This river bank has eroded away, creating a tall sloping bank of mud. It had been raining the previous day, which allowed the mud to be look wet and horrible emphasising the brutallity of the trench sequence. By cutting out the river from the camera, this allowed the portrayal of the trench to be accurate and creates a believable trench of worl war 2. The footage can be compared to scenes from world war 2 films such as the Saving Private Ryan and Enemy at the Gates. ANDY
